o.k what would one define as shoes?..
Are we wasting time with thongs ( not the ones you wear under your clothes ) boots or sandles?...
Or do the majority of us here 'have ' to go by the wording 'shoes'?...
as worded in the dictionary:
"Shoe:
An outer covering for the foot, usually made of leather, fabric, or plastic, with a stiff sole and usually not reaching above the ankle"
will we be 'scored low' if they come above the ankle?... or are we mellow about what we wear on our feet?
just need to know the thoughts of others. |

Never really thought about that, I know my entry will have a shoe above the ankle... so who knows, I won't mark down. I believe shoes can go over the ankle IMO.

I would think that for the purpose of this challenge, the term "shoe" could be rather generic and encompass all forms of foot cover. |

Yeah I didn't know a thong was a shoe either, LOL, but I think, sandals, heels, boots, etc... fit as "shoe"

Why is this question being asked? Do you wear it on your foot? End of story.
All these threads about what a challenge means or what is acceptable are so ridiculous. Have fun and take your shot and enjoy the time. Worth a lot more than how well your shot does in a challenge. |

Amazing, has there ever been a challenge without someone questioning the subject?
While //www.dictionary.com defines shoe as:
-"A durable covering for the human foot, made of leather or similar material with a rigid sole and heel, usually extending no higher than the ankle."
it is also listed as...
"-A horseshoe.
-A part or device that is located at the base of something or that functions as a protective covering, as:
*A strip of metal fitted onto the bottom of a sled runner.
*The base for the supports of the superstructure of a bridge.
*The ferrule on the end of a cane.
*The casing of a pneumatic tire.
*A device that retards or stops the motion of an object, as the part of a brake that presses against the wheel or drum.
*The sliding contact plate on an electric train or streetcar that conducts electricity from the third rail.
*A chute, as for conveying grain from a hopper."
I can't image someone marking down for a boot, or a sandal, or HEELS? or thongs, (or flip flops as they are also called). They didn't say it had to be only 2" above the heel or encase your entire foot or be flat.
To help with the international nature of the site and ease of definition, I'm pretty sure they meant the type of shoes worn by humans but in my eyes if they didn't say "NO YOU CAN'T SHOOT BOOTS, OR HEELS OR THONGS" then it is all game.
I'll be in horse country this weekend, maybe I'll go find a blacksmith shoeing a horse. Of course I also need new brake shoes so...

Hmmm the title of the thread seems interesting... would love to see a thong and a shoe/boot 'only' combination in some pictures.
As posted by Peter the term thong is taken more intimately in UK.... although it has become a general attitude in fashion to show the thong. Let's see where this idea takes shape int he current challenge.
EDIT: Typo

The photo I've submitted had a boot in it when I thought it up, but I ended up replacing it with a shoe. The shoe didn't fit quite as well, but having learned from my "Live Music" submisssion (below), I wanted this one to be spot on the subject. :)

Let's see in some parts of the world a boot is something you put on your foot and in some parts of the world it is locaed, usually, at the back end of your car.
Now have fun with that one....
Than everyone can ask must I have at least two since the challenge says "shoes." As in more than one.

That was going to be my question too. I have a few ideas but some of them involve just one of a pair.
