If someone doesn't care enough to make a comment, then why force them to make one? I am of the school of thought that if someone wants to say something they will. I just don't know if anything worthwhile will come out of forcing comments. A person's vote already is a statement of what they think of the photo. I know everyone craves pointers, critiques, and compliments or criticisms. We just have to remember that we can't make somebody write out something. Some members have complained about the voting taking so much time. I'm with Gordon, let's not make something like this mandatory and drive people away.

i think you guys are quite right. no one should be coerced to say something. especially if he/she doesn't have anything nice/constructive to say. it may backfire and turn ugly.

also, can i suggest a search function that lists every forum post and comment made by a member of DP? right now the profile page offers 'latest forum post' and 'last 10 comments'. that way i can get to know other people here faster/better.

to the webmasters: thanks for a fantastic job. and you are really making us feel a part of this project by incorporating everyone's suggestions. THANKS.
