I tried to capture a shot for the dairy entry, but could not get it right. It was going to be my first attempt at long exposure photography. I just got my Z3 back and was trying use the shutter mode.

The setup I had was a block of cheese with a glass hidden behind it. I then set my camera for different timed settings and then started to pour milk into the cup. I had my camara a little below the top edge of the cheese to get a better angle to make it look like the milk was going into the cheese.

My problem was sometimes my cheese was overexposed, other times the milk didn't look like a continous stream. I also had trouble (because I was using lamps for my light source and a piece of black card board as my backdrop) with my lights reflecting off of the cardboard and the cheese casting a small shadow that showed up more the longer the exposure.

I know that I could benifit from some better lighting and back drops, but money is an issue. Any ideas how I could make this shot work with limited resources and limited experience.

I saw lots of pouring milk shots in the challenge, but none into a block of cheese. Would this have been a picture that could have had a little bit of the wow factor if I could have caught it? I know this is hypothetical, but I sometimes suffer with ideas for challenges and this idea came to me when I first read the challenge. I just couldn't pull it off.

Having someone else pour the milk and you just concentrating on capturing the subject is a start.

That would have been great, but my two year old really wanted to help daddy and so my wife was keeping her busy, while I tried to shoot!

Sounds like a good idea Jeremy! Maybe you'll be able to implement it sometime in the future.

Me too, I'm missing my update button for I don't have a nude picture either. Couldn't get wife to pose and nobody wants to see me naked :0.
