Take a break. Shoot what YOU like to shoot. Post up shots that you like so people can see them. After a while, a challenge will match what you happen to be shooting at the time. You enter and then all of a sudden, you're hooked again. I go in cycles like this sometimes... |

Geez guys. I think I see it! Notice which cameras you're both using?
Nikonian finishes typing, chuckles, and quickly runs to hide from the slighted "Canonites"

I too know exactly what you are talking about. When challenges like "dairy" come around, I start thinking...all right, just shoot a picture of a glass of milk or something....but I seem to lack creativity and that seems to get me down the most. Since I know that a plain and boring shot like that simply won't do well, I just decide to sit the challenge out...and quite a few of them, too. I really have very little desire to enter a "dairy" or "shoes" challenge. If a challenge came along like "leading lines III" or "Light II" I might be a little more interested. I guess some topics just don't spark my interest, and I'm not one to submit for sake of an update button.

Make a challenge sugestion that you think will liven this place up. Not one that involves a fruit, a rubber duckie or a woody either.
The natives are getting restless.

Actually, I'm new at all this but I am finding this whole challenge thing pretty time consuming. Don't get me wrong, I love this place, but there is so much activity here and challenges to keep up with that I could easily spend all day on the site enjoying it without going out to take photos, so I think you have to be able to draw a line somewhere. So maybe entering a few less challenges is not a bad thing, if it keeps you from getting burned out. I know I won't have alot of time to enter them, so I'm not going to stress my already stressful life by taking on more than I can handle right now. I plan to enter the ones that I am the most interested in and think I can actually put something worth looking at into. I want to keep voting as much as I can, but when my computer starts to bog down, that can become a major time consumer too. Just enjoy what you're doing or don't do it, usually works best that way. |

Well I actually just snapped out of my rut! I had a great idea for the shoes challege on the drive home. Went to take the picture, but didn;t turn out the way I had hoped (due to circumstances beyond my control). So I am going to go shoot again this afternoon and maybe tomorrow. I really like the idea so hopefully I can keep my Top 10 streak alive (2/2)! |
