I've noticed that there seem to be more and more photos being submitted without titles (there are about a half dozen "untitled" in the Light Source challenge), and I'm very curious about the motivation behind that decision.

In one sense, I can understand someone intentionally leaving a shot untitled on the basis that the shot "stands alone" without need for further explanation. But at the same time there are a few shots -- this week in particular -- where I intentionally looked for a title so I had a clue as to what I was looking at, only to find it "Untitled."

I'm simply curious about the reasoning people are using when they don't add a title. I know it's not required, but I have to admit I am often disappointed when there isn't one. Does anyone else feel like they're missing something when the shot goes nameless?

Well, I switch photos several times throughout the week and don't bother to fill out the info until I've decided exactly which shot I want to go with. I almost forgot to fill in my info a couple weeks ago, and so then mine would have said "." I remembered with only a few minutes left. lol
I've seen similar things for peoples titles and wondered if they did the same thing and just forgot.
Not sure about everyone else, but that's why mine was almost untitled.

I had a title last week that I tried to put quotes around. I didn't realize until later in the week when I made a change that the title wasn't accepted that way and would have been "untitled".

Do not want to open a can of worms ... but I prefer 'Untiltled' to a 'bad title' !!!
