yes. i've read the rules. :D

anyways. a friend of mine was showing me their image that they planned to submit, and i suggested some post-production work. bring out the colors, etc. where i ended up taking their picture was a little far from the original. i just thought it would be nice to verify that the processes i used were indeed within the rules. i used a process somewhat similar to what greenem did with "become wrath" for the 7 deadly sin challenge.

i wrote down everything i used, along with specifics and saved every version of the picture in case there's a call for it be disqualified, which looks pretty certain. anyways. these are what i used:

*resize/crop
*some automatic adjustments (color balance, contrast, saturation)
*histogram functions (equalize, adjustment)
*hue/saturation/lightness [note: no hues were changed. only saturations of various hues]
*brightness/contrast
*color balance
*gamma correction
*despeckle
*unsharp mask

all of these affect the entire picture, and basically only modify the colors. the only time a selection tool was used was to crop, which i know is legal.

the other issue is that apparently this person's camera does not record EXIF data. so when they are asked to submit the original, which i'm sure they will be, it won't contain that information. (don't ask me. crappy camera)

just trying to make sure they don't get dqed if they do decided to use my version.

(and no, i won't be voting on their image, as i haven't before. it wouldn't exactly be fair either way. i also see nothing in the rules about multiple people working on a single photo)

thanks to anyone with answers. :)
