I just watched this PBS show about the photographer Hansel Mieth. You might wanna check out local listings or atleast look at some of her work. Link to PBS site |

dang it i wanted to watch that and i missed it....I was too busy taking pics i guess and forgot....
was it any good????

It's PBS so you gotta be in the mood I guess. I thought it was interesting. They showed a lot of her work and showed interviews with her. I'm sure they'll run it again. Just check the website for times. |

I went and checked the TIVO and it's being shown again on Thursday 29th at 1 am mountain time. So depending where you live it will be on late Wed. night or early Thurs morning. I've set it to record, thanks for the tip Nancy. |

Just thought I would bump this because it is on again late tonight. It looks really interesting and if you go to the website, Hansel Mieth has some really dramatic B&W photos. |

They don't have her most famous picture on there though. The rhesus monkey photo that ran in Time in 1939. Most photographers would recognize it.
In the documentary she recounts how she was sent to Puerto Rico to shoot a story on the monkeys. She actually saw this one swimming away from the island and decided to go out and try to save it ;P
