I have been hired to do photos at a wedding in two weeks and I was wondering if I needed some sort of release signed by the couple getting married? If so, is there anywhere online that I can download such a release?

Thanks, Dan

I assume you mean to use their image for self promotion? Be sure to have a clause in your contract to use any images for self promotion.

DO NOT shoot a wedding without a contract even if it is a friend.

I have a clause in mine for self-promotion and editorial use for newspaper and magazines also. Every time my local weekly does a story on weddings they call me for pics. You may want to add that for your future use also. Extra $$ every time. Plus it's great free promotion.

on my agreement they have to sign... you're welcome to use it (or you can pm me if you'd like the whole copy)

After a period of one year, the photographer will, upon request by the client, offer to the client the negatives, for a charge of $_____ on the understanding that the copyright of all photographs remains with the photographer. Photographer reserves the right to use negatives, digital scans and/or reproductions for advertising, display, internet promotion, publication or other purposes. Client may make unlimited enlargements and reprints for personal use but not for any commercial purposes without prior written permission from photographer and full copyright recognition.
