My built in flash on my Canon 20D is sticking. I have to slip a fingernail in between the flash and the camera body, then press the shutter release in order to have it snap into position.
I get a clicking sound, and Error 05 if I do not do this. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a solution other than sending it back to Canon for repairs?
Thanks much |

Don't use it?
Get a flash unit!?
I don't know. I've never used the built in flash. |

Did you spill soda on it?

It could be that the hinge just needs lubrication or there's some dust/dirt around the hinge that prevents it from popping up on it's own when you press the button.
The camera manual may have a troubleshooting suggestion.

I have the same problem. Basically its crap. I never use it. If i need to use it, i flip it up manually.
I'm getting a 580x which should solve the problem :D
