I have been considering upgrading to a the 350xt and was wondering what the total cost I should expect. I saw in another forum that Dell is selling the body with Kit Lens for approx. 740.00. What else would be recommended to make this a decent set up for a first time SLR user. I think I could sell all my P&S's with equipment for about 600.00. I would have to save the rest, could probably do that in a couple months.

I am wondering about Lens, Flashes, Memory, Filters, ect. Thanks

Depends on how much you want to spend:
Wide Angle: Kit Lens: $0, 17-40 F/4L: $600
Telephoto: 75-300mm: $175, 70-200 F/4L: $550
Macro: Sigma 105mm: $400, Canon 100mm/2.8: $500
Flash: Anywhere from $200-$500
Memory: A couple of 1G CF cards: $150
Filters: Generic Brand: 3-for-$50/lens, Canon: $50-each/lens

Has anyone ever purchased one of the kits that are on ebay? They come with the camera and a couple of lens and fiters. There can be some pretty good prices, but I think the lens are not that great. Any opinions? Thanks
