New to DPChallenge... great advise from the wise?

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0L IS

Hello all, I have been snaeking around for awhile now and I am waiting to get my editing program before I enter a challenge. However, I was wondering if there is more to chatting in forums, soaking up knowledge and entering contests here? I love the site thus far and have already picked favorites.
Honestly, I think I had confidence in myself until I had some comparison... now I am over inspired and perhaps swallowed by the talent here. Any advise from the pros?

a really good addiction! when you enter challenges and are a member you can hit the update button and watch your score change if anyone has voted since the last time you hit the update button.
the best way to think of it is like having lab rats trained to give themselves a hit of some good stuff by pushing a button... you just sit there and press the button over and over again.

Of course, when you score low like me (aka unlike nico_blue over here) it cures you pretty good of the addiction. But I don't think you'll have the same problem as me.

hmmmmm sounds like another "life stealer". I have already been on here since I got up and it was the last thing I was doing went I went to bed. Surely there isn't another thing to keep me busy. I really want to enter the nude shot and have a great pic in mind.... when the voting starts isn't it pointless to enter. It is more on how quickly you submit than anything it seems. If I submit now... is there a chance?

You can't submit after the voting starts. The deadline for Nude was midnight Sunday.

Darn it!!!! I wanted to do a breast - abdomen with a "naked lady" lilly flower against the skin. I thought it would be funny to those who knew some flower knowledge. Oh well... again, my idea will just be a hobby pic. Grrrrr

Take the image ID from the end, in this case it's 220588, click on the farthest right little box up above where you're posting (it says insert thumbnail) and tada, there it is.
