A photography magazine I like to read here in New Zealand called D-Photo has a competition with the topic Abstact. I'm not sure exactly what it is . Would any one like to enlighten me with either words or photographic examples. Thanks in advance

anyone? am going to bed now. Maybe when I wake up there will be lots of examples to help me understand what abstract is.

have a look at the photos of the abstract challenge we had here

normally you have a hard time guessing what you are looking at in an abstract as they tend to be about shape or colors not complete items or stories

PS. where in Wellington are you from... I lived the first 23 years of my life in Johnsonville then moved around the city for the next 7 years before heading over to Sydney

Your question is correct - answers tend to be abstract. I would say start with a dictionary definition, as there is little consensus.
