Saw the exhibit when my parents came to visit me in Taipei. It's Hella Wild!
What I learned: Where does a spleen actually go?
What my sister learned: The guy who was "The Smoker" has a really teeny thingy.
Both my parents and my sister bought the book. My sister uses it teaching at the college.
They were pretty explicit that photos were not to be taken in the Taipei exhibit, granted things are a little more rigid here in general. A press pass might be helpful (one of these days I gotta get a friend to get me one from Thailand ;)

They fill all of the holes with plaster and plaster coat the outside. Then they fill the cast with acid to wash out muscle and fat. The cast is then injected with hot colored plastic and the cast is removed. |

i saw a documentary about the exhibition on the discovery channel, i think its really great for science in general even though it can be a bit gross.

Just saw it in Chicago 2-3 weeks ago and they didn't allow any cameras or phone cameras.

I saw the exhibition in London and loved it, very educational.
The bodies look really grim and gross from photos, but in the flesh (so to speak) it all seems very normal and the bodies seem more like plastic. Good luck! |

heh, they wouldn't allow any forms of photography, not even little phones.
in any case, what an amazing exhibit.
the most fascinating is how they pulled out all the nervous system and circulatory system. some wild stuff in there and i recommend the 20$ i paid to go see it! sorry no cool pics.
