Found it!
Direct quote from Mr. Chuck Westfall:
"USA-based professional photographers can contact Canon USA at 516-328-4283 to request a CPS membership application kit."
"send an email to cpsmember@cusa.canon.com for CPS membership application kit"

do you need what they consider a pro camera to do that? They don't consider the 10D/20D cameras to be pro for some reason...

CPS doesn't really care what type of equipment you have. You just have to be a working pro who derives at least 51% of their annual income from photography and has the appropriate credentials to substantiate your professional status. Each CPS application is personally reviewed on a case-by-case basis. |

True if you skip the 51% thing. They never ask that. |

So what credentials do they require?

They will take a wide variety of proof. Tear sheets, a letter from your boss, letters from your customers, links to your website, samples of your work...
PS: they do ask for a list of your Canon equipment.

Thanks, I'll know what to expect. I'm shooting a PBR rodeo at the Colorado State Fair. I wish I had the 200mm 1.8 for it!
