I see on my profile that I'm running low on space but on other profiles they have 10x more photos than I have so how do you get more space for the uploaded photos??

Challenge entries do not take any of your allotted space. This maybe be what you're seeing.

Also make sure everything in your portfolio is under 150kb each

Also, you may be uploading huge files--files bigger than the 640x480 (or whatever the dimensions are) that DPC shows--I used to upload shots like 2048 by 1536 and then of course, those files take up a lot more room in your portfolio than a 640x480 shot would.

I hope this makes sense...I always resize my shots with 640 as the largest dimension, then it doesn't take up as much room.

Strange, you have less than 50 photos and all the ones i looked at are less than 100kb.
You should have tons of space left.

Do you have a lot of photos in your workshop folder? Otherwise, you should definitely be able to fit in more photos. I have 330+ and am running under 20mb. Like others have said, make sure you're saving them no bigger than the maximum dimensions and at a good compression rate.

Yeah, you probably want to go through and check to make sure they are all under 150kb. You should have room for alot more photos than you have. Like someone already said, challenge entries don't count towards your space and some people have entered hundreds of challenges so in turn they have alot of photos in their portfolios. I would suggest you do a "Save for Web" on all your photos at 150kb or lower before you upload them to your portfolio. You can resize the ones you have and upload them again without losing any comments or favorites by using the "replace photo" feature under each photo in your portfolio manager.
