It's so nice to have a sister who does everything--model, lighting assistant, tripod-carrier, lens holder, let's see...she'll even be the background support, if the need arises!
Wanna trade? I think she's worth that fancy macro lens you've got... ;-) |
You should hang onto her. An assistant that's willing to carry your stuff on a hike through a canyon like that is hard to find. Heck, I would gladly have given her two quarters to carry my backpack. :)
|
I should get a shirt for the next GTG...Assitant for hire. lol. I might have to raise my prices. :) I have been a background support a few times... |

LOL! You can be my assistant at the next GTG. I'll double whatever Cristin's been paying you, and I'll match your current benefit package too. :)

And with no training at all I bet. You rock!

Cool! Right now she's not paying me anything...What's double that? Nope, no training at all...exept what I've gotten from working for Cristin. Yeah, I know I rock. lol :)

Dude, you can't just STEAL my assistant like that! Jeez! What will I do now? I may have to steal Becky from you just to get even...and then what would you do? She's got experience carrying a tripod, right? : ) Ask her if she minds paychecks in quarters, wouldja?

Good shots PrincessMacaroni! I think silverfalls2.jpg has the best composition of the three. Did you do any editing? You might try adjusting the levels (especially the white point) to brighten them up a little, and maybe bump up the saturation a tiny bit too.

Save up your quarters and get your own portfolio. That should be a piece of cake for an experienced, high paid assistant such as yourself.
BTW, I hope you don't mind that I posted those photos of you taking your break. If you do, just let me know. I won't take them down, but it might give me a nice chuckle. :)

Hey, this is business sweetheart. Get used to it. :)
You don't have anything to worry about anyway. If I did get her to work for me it wouldn't last very long. She'd quit after five minutes of lugging my stupid backback around. I came close to leaving it on the trail for the next sucker that came along.

If you can get Becky to carry your stuff around, even for just a few minutes, then you're doing better than I ever have. I wish you much luck. I have to trick her into doing things like that for me. Like the way I tricked her into carrying my 70-200 lens back up the trail. I had to buy her a 350XT and tell her, "You really need to use this big white lens to get the best shots of the waterfalls. I can let you use it, but only for a little while." I don't think she realized how I suckered her until we were back to the top of the canyon. ;^)

Hey, you should've! I totally woulda picked it up--and then handed it to Rianna, of course, to carry all the way back! I think she would stick with you longer than 5 minutes tho...She's pretty dedicated to her assistant position, I think. At least she has been with me! :) And just think, after all these years, she's going to ditch ME for some guy she met on the internet! *sob* I knew something fishy was going on when she actually STOPPED eating (very rare occurence) and ran right up to you and started chattering...

Lol, that was great! (sorry, Becky, but it was!) You sound like me when I was four: "Hey Rianna, if you go ask mommy for a cookie for me, I'll split it with you!" (and then give you a quarter, of course)

Ah yes, the joys of digital photo editing. Getting a photo into the camera is only half the battle. There are so many different choices that one can make. I guess that's why its called "art work" and not "art play", eh? Good work Ronce!

Hey Rianna, I go to work, come home and your fee has doubled or tripled. In a week you’ll be able to retire. Just not farâ€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦lol Darn job, haven’t had a chance to see if I can save any of the other shots.
Hey Mick, I'd have no problem carrying the "white lens". But you did a pretty good job having Becky carrying it around for ya.

Lol...Yeah, Rianna and I were bored today and kinda went to town with this whole going back and forth in the GTG thread, teehee. :)
You should just quit your job and be a tripod-carrying assistant, then you'll have more time to edit pictures! :)
Seriously though, I am looking forward to seeing more! I guess standing in the middle of the creek and climbing up rocks and down canyons and all that really paid off for you! I shouldn't have been such a lazy slob and tried some of that too...ah well. Next time, maybe. :)

Yah, soon she'll be forming a union and going on strike for higher wages and safer working conditions. :)

It's taken me about 30 years, but I've learned a trick or two that works with her. Normally though, I just throw money at the problem.

Here's some pics, and I tried to fix the color on the portrait. I must still be tired.
Now that I know Mick's secret.... Geeze what a sucker I was.

Couldn't get the whole S.falls in one shot to come out, upper half and lower half. I thought it was kinda cool seeing ferns grow right out of he rocks.
You now your getting tried when you put your lens hood on backwards...lol

Thanks Mick, just hanging with you guys I learned a bunch. As you may notice I have no sky in any of my shots. I'm going to look into some filters. This first shot of yours the sky is awesome great detail in the shadows and with the long exposure on the falls very cool shot. Really had a great time. (The last falls would had been a great place for some nude shots).
