Two questions...

I do a lot of mountain biking, and I'd like to be able to capture good action photos. My main problem is the 2 second auto focus lag - by the time the camera auto focuses on the subject, the subject has moved and is out of focus. If I use the focus button, and set it to infinity, the 2 second auto focus lag is elimnated. Can using the infinity focus setting, fast shutter speed, and appropriate aperature setting result in good action shots? If not, how do I take good action shots with this camera?

I love taking closeups of my fish tanks. I'm looking to get a good, affordable macro/closeup/doubling/whatever you call it lens. I've heard good things about Tiffen lenses, but never used them, and I don't know anyone personally that has used them. Suggestions? Since the lens will see limited use, I'd like to stay pretty inexpensive... Right now I'm leaning towards a set of 3 lenses from Tiffen, +1, +2, and +4 for $36.
