These are outtakes of my entry for long-exposure. I finally had a chance to review and add them to my portfolio. Thanks for any comments Van

A wonderful job Van, on what looks a very difficult subject, lovely bokeh and colours.

Fantastic captures, Van. I wonder if they're a little over processed, or that's just an effect of the lens..
This one particularly
seems to have a sort of 'painted' quality to it. It's kind of interesting, but not what I'd usually want in a macro.

Paul,
I used a bit of PS to get the correct blues out of the lupine and pinks on the wings and abdomen (select color). I used a 300mm and 2 extension tubes at almost minimum focus, at 1/640 at f5.6, ISO 300 in natural sunlight. Thanks for the comments. |

That's your Tokina 300mm/2.8? How do you find it for macros? I've been lusting over a Canon 300/4, not that I can afford it however!

No, I used the Tameron, the Tokina is to heavy for much mobility. I was at least a 1/2 mile off trail. I love the Tokina for macros, but have to use a tripod or my arms get weak. It is really nice on wildflowers. I used it extensively with my FE & FM2, just started experimenting with it with my D70. |

Too nice to use the term snapshots IMHO. |
