Anyone know anything about these? Seems like a cheap alternative if you want to get really close :)

These have no electronic connections to them at all, so the camera can't "communicate" with the lens. They'll only work with lenses where you can set the aperture on the lens, unless you're content to shoot wide open, which is not usually a good idea on extreme closeups. I think this means you can't use 'em effectively with any Canon "EF" lenses; I believe (but may be wrong) that all the EF lenses set aperture electronically by camera command.
You'll also have to use manual focus, but that's no biggie; I never use autofocus on macros anyway, myself.
If you happen to have any of the older lenses, you might enjoy these.

they'll probably fit, but not being able to change the aperature is going to pretty much render them useless.
you won't be happy ... but it will fit |

There are other extension tubes that will make the electronic connection, and they can be pretty cheap way to try out some macro action. I have a set of "pro optic" tubes that work fine for autofocus and aperture settings.

I have the Kenko set which do communicate with the camera so the exposure information is good, however, you'll probably have to use MF.
