Just testing the new camera and took these. I noticed this glow on the upper part of the coin. I used the built in flash.
This side has it;
This side, not so much;
Is it the flash? Any ideas on what (if not flash) and how to correct? Thanks.

Yes, it is a reflection from the flaash. This will be difficult to correct using the built-in flash, what you want to do is to diffuse the lighting, and it's really hard to do with a built-in flash. Try putting a piece or two of tissue paper about halfway between the flash and the subject.

They're actually very good shots considering you used the on-board flash. That's usually a killer for closeup shots of a shiny object like a coin. |
