I got in on the 20D body only. Maybe try that on the 1Ds?

It pays to look for mistakes on Amazon. I just got a Manfrotto monopod with swivel head and quick release for $33. The head alone is 30 bucks. So I ordered it figuring I'd give it a shot. Of course, all I recieved was the monopod without the head, but a quick email to them of the mistake got the head shipped out that same day. Needless to say, it's no longer available for that price.

Has anyone gotten a confirmation email yet? I am so tempted on this, even though Hilltop RV Superstore's positive rating is 56%.

-Chad

edit: I added it to my cart, but 20D body no longer available.

If anybody got a 20d for sweet price, I'll buy it for a sweet price + finder's fee.

So, exactly what was the price error? I went to all the links in this thread and they're all showing normal prices.

Earlier this morning I was able to get the order through for a 20D body only for $600.... it is still a valid order, and the fact that they have corrected the price since then gives me a bit of confidence... I'm thinking that if it was a scam, they wold have left it low and try to scam more people.

1Ds was selling for $800 at that time (actually, it would not go through) Right now it is at $8000.

I hope I'm not. The photo is funny, but you do not buy a photo, you buy a description (hopefully)

I'll let you all know if I
a) got what I wanted
b) got a call from them stating how they cannot fulfill the order
c) had to fight to get my $600 back

The Mark II was selling for only $800 for the body.
The Rebel 300D was selling for $450 for the kit.
The 20D was selling for $800 for the kit and $600 for the body.
The Rebel XT for $650 for the kit.

So it seems everyone will have their order cancelled.
08/12/2005 04:08:37 PM · #50
(Last year) When Amazon had their mistake for the Kodak camera (see mavrik)... I ordered two. At first they cancelled the order stating it was a mistake. I called customer service and explained the situation that "I didn't realize that the camera was actually a lot more expensive". They said that it was a clerical error. In the end, I received a $50 gift certificate for my troubles.

Not bad. I would have preferred the cameras but $50 isn't bad :)
