Hi folks,

I've been taking some pics of Navy aircrafts around my vacation place. I'm by no means an airplane expert, so will be glad if you can help me identify these couple planes...

or point me to a website where I can identify them so I don't have to bother you with every single one I happen to take a pic of ;).

thanks in advance.

It's a P-3 Orion.
Used mostly for anti-submarine warfare and weather analysis (storm chasers).

Thanks Brad.

Dude, you can fix planes as well as cars? seems you know them well!! ;)

Now that you mention, it seems both are P3 Orion, but different models, both pics are taken a couple days apart, so I don´t think the stick on the back or the antenna behind could be replaced or exchanged among those two. I'll keep chasing them and see how many of those birds can I spot.

And please, fix that "No Camera -- Vote only" thing!!! :)

yes there are several different models of the P3. Actually the 2nd pic is the version I tried to get stationed to to work on while I was in the Navy. But I ended up working on the A6 Intruder

Grew up around airplanes plus spent 10 years in the Navy.
Only way I could fix a plane is so nobody else could :)

There are so many versions of these planes out there -hurricane chasers, costal security, DEA, etc...
