I bought my first digital camera(Canon S1 IS)this year only. Earlier, I was using conventional SLR, Nikon F55. Now, I am not using F-55 frequently.
Should I sell F-55, or use it more frequently. Your opinion please.

I sold mine and used the money for new lens.

You won't get much money for your F55...$50 maybe. I'd keep it. I have a Canon Elan II and haven't used it in 5 years...

*snickering* You could also use it as a paperweight! ;) Kidding, kidding. If you won't get much for it and you love shooting with it, keep it and keep shooting!

I put my old point and shoot in the glove box of my car. I carried my 20D most of the time, but you never know.

Mine's a Canon EOS Elan, and it's still in my original bag. We go back at least 12 years and I learned a lot on it, so I'm keeping it for old-times sake.

I have four Nikon film bodies sitting in my desk drawer. It makes no sense to sell a body I paid $1500 for on Ebay for $225. I'll keep them for my kids, if they still make film by the time they get older.
I've been tempted to buy some film and shoot a couple of rolls. But then, I wonder why I would want to spend money on film and processing when I have two 20D's, a 10D, and a Canon G6. I think I'll go with the paperweight plan...

I considered keeping mine (I had a nice little Minolta), but I learned so much, so quickly by using my digital cameras and being able to tweak settings and SEE the differences right then... that I decided in all honesty, I would probably not go back to film.

If you plan to keep your conventional SLR for the next 12 years, how often you should take it out of the case, to prevent it from fungus, and to keep its lubrication intact.
