What is the widest wide angle lens under 250$ that you can get without any fisheye type distortion? I do a lot of scenery shots currently and will probably be getting an Panasonic FZ20 after the price comes down a bit, so a wide angle lens would be the first upgrade. One other thing; is there any way of using a solar panel with the charger that comes with the FZ20 or is there a solar charger for the Li-Ion batteries?
Thanks,
David P.

If your 35mm equivalent field of view is at least 15mm, and your lens is of at least vaguely decent quality, you should be able to take shots perfectly parallel to your subject plane without fisheye distortion. I don't believe the FZ20 is a DSLR, though, so your only option is purchasing the wide-angle adapter for it, and I'm fairly sure that such an adapter won't go wide enough for you to have to worry.
Whether you'll have barrel or pincushion distortion from using such an adapter is another matter, of course. |

ANything more then a .7x wide converter is going to start getting the fisheye distortion. In my opinion, what you gain from a .7x isn't worth the drop in quality.
