Ok, I'll admit I'm getting lazy in my old age, and my brief Google searches are leading me to things that are more elaborate than what I'm looking for.
I have a client who wants to have a navigation menu, similar to what's here at DPC, but that runs down the left side. They want to be able to mouse over the main headings and get a sub-heading, like the ones that pop up here.
A good example of exactly what they're looking for is at www.diabetes.org
Just wondered if any of you other web design geeks have a good source for a good, easy-to-set-up freebee that you use for these menus, since they're pretty common. I've been finding all sorts of free whacky ones that sparkle, fade, etc., but I seem to be having a hard time finding just the relatively simple menu I'm describing here...

NP! :) I have been working on my site - which has a new menu - so I was all OVER Dynamic Drive and DHTML Central lately!

If I could pose an alternate to javascript... how about using only CSS instead? It will still work regardless of if the user has javascript enabled and is much easier to maintain than a javascript menu IMO.
Something like this for example. |
