Is there noticable difference 'in camera use' speed between a Kingston Elite Pro and Sandisk Ultra II?
Is the Ultra II speed utilised by the 300D?

well the 300d is slow to begin with, i would say it doesnt matter which one you have in it, i would dare to say that both the cards are faster than the cameras write speed
make sense?

I have several sandisk 512 'regular' cards, an older sandisk 256 and a new Kingston Elite Pro 1Gb card.
The 256 is noticeably slower in the camera than any of the 512s. The 1Gb is technically faster but I see nothing in the camera that shows it can do better there. It might do better on my USB2.0 card reader, but as it holds twice as much it still takes a while to DL images.
The 300D can only write at the slower speeds. However, faster cards will DL to the computer faster and can of course earn their keep when you get a faster camera (a 350 or 20D) next year.
Why next year? By then the 300D will be pushing 3 years old. Ancient technology these days!
