Went to the Leeds Mela yesterday, but was quite disappointed with the atmosphere compared to last year. The security guys wouldn't let flags in (I love taking photos of St. George's flags against Islam flags), and turned away people with England t-shirts, even when worn by Asian guys. PC gone wrong, etc, etc. Decent bands were regularly booed by the crowd and the numbers seemed down on last year. The fireworks were cancelled because of bomb concerns(?!).
My press pass was very handy though, free beer and food in the VIP section!!! I wish that was a regular occurance!

Oh yeah, the Royal Air Force was sponsoring the event and had loads of jets on site for the kids to play with. Quite a recruitment drive!
