Can you give me any ideas on what the best manual settings are for very sunny conditions? I took a photo of my dog in the bright sun, and it was so washed out. The ISO set at 100 and the F-stop at 2.8 The photo was awful even after playing around with it in Photoshop, I hate it. Dog Here

Your basic rule of thumb is to use the reciprocal of your ISO at f:16 in bright sunlight. So that would be 1/100 at f:16, or 1/200 at f:11, or 1/400 at f:8, or 1/800 at f:5.6... You get the idea... Your post does not tell us what shutter speed you used, but at f:2.8 it should have been around 1/3000 of a second, LOL.
That's why God gave us light meters, though. Why aren't you using yours?
