Is Smart Sharpen (PS CS2) legal in basic editing? I originally thought not however an answer in another thread about blown highlights and the shadow/highlight filter has got me thinking that it probably is.

This filter only sharpens selective sections of an image through the use of an algorithm of some sort and not through the use of selection tools.

I am interested in other's views on this.

Please don't enter into a discussion about the 'evil' of post processing. ;)

It would seem to me that if you use it on the entire image, it would be "legal" but probably a Site Council member will have a definitive answer.

If it doesn't require selection tools then I would say it was legal.
