| Being that the Illusion challenge is an Advanced Challenge... what Filters are legal to use...? can I use Crystalize ? Liquify...?.Wave....? it says any filter is a the disgression of the Photog... can someone give an opinion..or can the SC on duty chime in with a verdict ? ... thanx... Tom |

if i were to vote on a photo post processed using any of the mentioned filters - i would vote for DQ...

You won't get DQ'd for using them in an advanced editing challenge, but more often than not, it won't be received too well on the voter's side -- meaning you will probably score fairly low.

| Filters are legal in advanced, however you can't use any tool in such a way that it obscures, moves or creates major elements, nor can you create new shapes/objects that weren't in your original. IMO, the purpose any editing (advanced or basic) is to allow you to touch up your photo, NOT to create new art. With that in mind, filters that distort an image (such as liquify or wave) should be used very sparingly as its easy to cross the line on the Major Elements rule. |

| I shot mine in 3 different days. First day: elaborate set-up, liked the idea, hated the results. Second day: elaborate set-up, better results, but not quite what i was going for. Third day: elaborate set-up, and finally a great result. :) Can't wait to see what others have done with the challenge. |

Very strange to see so few entries, only 87! Are people loosing their courage? This time I entered an image way inside the box :) hope others see it that way as well. (no boxes used ;)
