Because of the size restraints here I have uploaded some b/w images to my pbase account, I would love to have some feedback please, no matter how honest, I need to learn.

Honestly, I think they are great. I love B&W, in general, and you've done a good job. I'd be interested to see what they look like a little bit sharper, but that's just personal preference. They look very nice, as is.

Black & white works! Canals pics with bridges work! Combine the two and it makes a good photo. Guess if you don't know UK, you won't appreciate the hardness, atmosphere and earthiness.

Hope to see some more soon.

honestly they are great composotions but you might want to go back on a different day and reshoot them. They lack crispness, and when an image is black and white it's has to be crisp. Don't use the auto or the p mode on your camera. Do everything yourself. Watch your sky, there is little to no image data in your sky at all, it's just pure white. some call this "blown out"

Thanks for the feedback, as for the sharpness, I agree maybe a little off, I'll tweak em a little but if I am submitting for prints I read somewhere to leave em a little soft?

Topher, I shot em in raw and there is sky detail if you look closely. The histogram wasn't blown at either end, I know a good dark cloudy sky would have been better maybe. anyone else ?
