Just bought the 100mm USM Macro from B&H and had to have it sent to my home address in Canada. Bought by phone - hubby is leery about giving out credit card no.on line.(Understandable). We DO have a U.S billing address (not a P.O no.) since we purchase motorcycle parts etc., from the states and Port Huron is right across from Sarnia it's no big drive or deal retrieving it.
My question is - B&H would not ship to our U.S. billing address - this adds extra shipping and PST - Does anyone know of American dealers that will ship to a billing address without a big hoopla?
Would we have experienced this problem if we HAD ordered on-line?
Even having it sent to the house - B&H called the house to comfirm the purchase. Like I mentioned, have been using the U.S billing address for years (Superior Communications Center) and this is the first time we've had this kind of problem. It is SOOOOOOO much cheaper buying quality lens from the states than in Canada. Would buy directly from Port Huron, but can't seem to find a Camera Store that carries lens there except BestBuy and sometimes their prices are the highest.Appreciate everyones patience and time with this message.
Yours in harmony lyta |

Normally on-line merchants will not ship to an address that is different from the billing address on the card used to purchase it. They do this to thwart credit card fraud, so someone who gains access to your card info cannot order something and have it shipped to them. I assume that your credit card bills to your home address?

when i bought my computer on my credit card i had a problem with the shipping address because it wasnt my billing address. i had to call the credit card company and have them add the shipping address to their list of addresses. after i did that they were able to ship it to the new address. so your best bet is to call your credit card company and have them add the shipping address.

We had it shipped to our home address. They called the house while they had hubby on the phone (he ordered it from work), just to make sure it was the actual ph no. and address. It will cost an extra 30 dollars and maybe PST but it is still about $200. cheaper than if I bought it in Canada. Thanks for asking. |

When I bought my 70-300 mm DO lens, I had it shipped to my work address. B&H is obsessive about verification. They use some kind of service that does a cross directory search. My company had changed it's numbers 3 years ago and their directory service had not yet caught up. It took us over an hour over the phone to convince B&H to ship it there.
