Hmmmm, seems to me somebody needs to keep all his personalities in check. That's some crazy shite! But then again, he does amuse me.

This has got to be one of the funniest posts I have seen in a long time! With each post being his last, all I could think of was the old silent movies where the dead guy kept giving his feet one more kick, over and over again. "Go ahead and die already!"

Chit Rabbinton, Welcome! I look forward to seeing your macro of the orange flower with black background in a future challenge!

Hahahaha! Great mental image!

Yep, I think Chit will be rakin' in those ribbons. :P

Let us pause for a moment and ponder Roy "Chit" Spensley's brief contribution to this site. His legend will live on forever - or more realistically a week or so.

May he rest in peace.

It is amazing then that 6 different people take photos during a race. (feel free tocheck the challenges) whilst in the pits themselves. Perhaps a group of "dpchallenge" people go together. Clearly that one is the same person.

Within the next few challenges I think ill jet off to the artic to take a shot. I mean thats what is submitted sometimes, artic underwater shots. Last week I saw one from the space station and he claims he took it today but I know he is lying.

The only thing Im drinking is your lack of creativity

If you believe someone is cheating, you should recommend disqualification on the photos in question. We have the means to check on suspect photos, but it is up to you, the voter, to initiate the process.

Is there anyway of removing these comments from this photo or is that not the right thing to do? It's a shame they have to stay there for all to see his ramblings.

It's not really funny guys...We in the UK are subject to two pieces of modern technology that adversely effect us: Firstly we have moblie phone masts popping up all over the place. There is a continuing debate in the Uk as to the health risks of living near such a tower.People think it effects them physically and mentally Protests and petitions have led to the mobile companies disguising such towers as trees and other such camoflage (I'm not joking). Now it seems our friend Roy has discovered their NEW disguise - squirrels!!!
Secondly, we are subject to CCTV surveillance at every turn. We are the most surveilled people on the planet. In an effort to reduce people's discomfort at being filmed at every turn; being filmed when they pick their nose, fart, accidently tuck their knickers into their skirts..etc..The authorities, taking a leaf out of the mobile phone companies book, have taken to disguising the CCTV cameras as stuffed animals. Each region had their own animal mascot. Middlesbrough, where Roy hails from, does indeed have the sqirrel as their mascot!!! Birmingham, where I come from, has the Dodo.
Now if you were surrounded by electrical equpiment disguised as trees and animals wouldn't you get a little paranoid?

The defense rests, M'lud.

In this case, yes, I did. I can understand your frustration. I know many a photogrpher here would like to ban all shots taken within 200 miles of Cannon Beach, Oregon and haystack rock (Everybody think of Zoomdak together now!) But don't you think that it's this...monotonous?...quality in most of the pictures that makes thinking outside the box all the more entertaining? Or perhaps you might see it, as I do, as a challenge: a challenge to produce a shot that has never been done before. The illusions challenge really perked my interest but sadly, as I have loaned my camera to zoomdak because his is broken at the moment and he needs it for a 2 week camping trip, I am unable to participate.

My point, if not already clear, is that photography is a creative endeavor and that it is up to YOU, not those around you to fulfill that creativity as you see fit.

Someone once said (I forget who) something like this: "Original thought [read: original work] is like original sin: both happened before you were born to someone you could never have met." Just a thought there. Originality is not always so original. I know that has little or nothing to do with originality here on DPC, but I thought I'd throw that out there. Also, I don't know about you, but I will never tire of beautiful sunsets, the complexity of nature, the look of a tall ship sailing under a full press of sail...

One more thing: it's a rule of thumb in debate that the first side to resort to shouting or cursing is losing the argument. I'm sure you can think of better ways to express your dislikes than by comparing them to bodily waste. Besides, use of words like that are rather shocking at first, but used repeatedly, they lose their punch and instead make you look, well, dumb.

Have a good stay here at DPC.

Forgive the double post, I just couldn't resist.

A picture of a woman that looks like a curved rock or something - guarenteed. Its obvious and uncreative, so it will probably win.

Couple of bucks says that we will see several such shots like this because our resident laughing stock here has put the idea forward. Perhaps we will see them with titles like:

"Ironic, Eyeronik?"
"Dedicated to Eyeronik"
"My God, He Can Predict the Future!"

Then again, we might see many having to do with rakes....

"A Rated Rake"
"Shit!"
"Another Rake Shot"
"Warning: May Insight Flaming"
"OOPS, CAPS LOCK IS STUCK*. I CAN'T GET IT OFF. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME GET MY CAPS LOCK UNSTUCK!? SHIT! I MIGHT NEED A RAKE TO FIX THIS..."

*Allusion to his last comment on this photo:

Speaking of bets, anyone willing to bet Eyeronik doesn't hang around here much longer? I almost feel mean... Let me take a moment to applaud Eyeronik for single-handedly taking on so many DPC'ers. No, seriously. To do that either takes one of the following: balls, stupidity, alcohol, or a craving for lots of attention. Perhaps a little of all of them. I feel sorry for you Eyeronik, I really do. Everyone is entitled to speak their mind, but as you have no doubt learned, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. If you'd taken a more tactful approach, you might not be looking at digital 3rd degree burns.

I've heard the same rumor Ken, although I now believe its an international promotion and he will also be doing a few corporate motivational seminars titled " Smart as a Rake with one hand on my Snake" coming to a venue near you.

We need to have a rake challenge: "Photograph a garden rake in a creative manner, not the way eyeronik did"

Wow ! What happens when poor old England is asleep - I missed it all until now and reading it has made me late for work!
I shall drive carefully watching out for stuffed squirrels who are actually an illusion and an old man with his date of birth written over his head so that I can kidnap them, put them in front of a black background and win that ribbon at last!!! Thank you eyeronic for giving me this wonderful opportunity to reach my destiny!

(and now I am even later for work -aaah!)

:)))))
