I had posted another thread asking people for a vantage point for Mt. Hood, OR. I haven't had many replies, so I thought I'd turn to technology.
Challenge: Using Google Earth, come up with your best guess at where this picture was taken from.
I have a guess, but I want to see if others agree. For those who haven't had a chance and like techo stuff, Google Earth is great to goof around with. You can pan down so you are at the level of the ground and see the horizon based on the elevation (with a satelite pic superimposed).

well, I don't really know the true answer, that's what I'm trying to find out. But tell me where this vantage point is. Look down and name a landmark close to where you are.
Don't forget there appears to be water in the foreground.

Skief, I opened your file and figured out where you were. Mine is more or less north/north-west of the mountain (look for a place called Lost Lake)so it's quite different from your's |
