I think Time Capsule will be an interesting challenge. I have 2 days to get mine in, as we're leaving on vacation and I'm not going to have access to a computer with my software. That is, unless I take a perfect shot and don't have to do a thing to it. ROFL
So the title IS the year, or it can have the year and other stuff? OH well... doesn't seem like we can worry about "this does not meet the challenge," or can we????

its pronounce moo-lay in french and it is a hairstyle that went out a long time ago. The back is kept long and the sides and top are short. Like Wayne from Wayne's World.

That original cut was called "bi-level," by hairdressers with the sides short and the back long. I have a wedding photo with one. ha ha ha ha ha ha

Now that's a serious mullet! I actually wore a mullet wig for an 80's party last year with a "Choose Life" t-shirt! Got a photo of it somewhere!

It ain't from the French; the French term is used in heraldry (like, coats of arms) and refers to a 5-pointed star device.
The currently accepted explanation is that the name for the cut did come from the name of the fish, via a slightly indirect route. There is a term of derision, mullethead, which comes from the name of a freshwater fish of the U.S. that has a large, flat head. It was thought to look stupid, and so the name mullethead came to be used to describe anyone considered dull or stupid. It dates in the written record with this meaning from 1857. This use of mullethead was shortened in the 20th century to mullet, retaining the same meaning, and that is thought to be the source of the haircut name.
'S what I've found so far....

I predict this breakdown for the entries for this challenge:
70%: 2002 (9/11 stuff)
25%: 1939-1945 (take a wild guess)
5%: other |

Got a question...can the title include words in addition to the year?

To make this really challenging would be to have photographs that appear as if taken with a camera/photographic process available at the time. Of course within limits of basic editing.
What made me think about this is an exhibit at the Philadelphia Art Museum: //www.philamuseum.org/exhibitions/exhibits/mavericks.shtml |
