The Google search engine realy sucks. It misses threads that were just posted 3 days ago. It really sucks having to scroll through 3 days (or more) of posts, all the time hoping you're in the right forum, just to find a thread.

I believe it was found that the search thingy was contributing to the massively slow site a few months back. People were complaining about that too. Until we can come up with a way to conveniently have both, you get one or the other. Slow unreliable site, or no search.
If there is a thread you want to follow or find interesting. Use the 'watched threads' feature.
Likewise, if you use the 'ignore thread' feature, then it will weed out a lot of threads on the main page, and keep interesting ones there longer.

I would rather the site be faster. Someone else here bookmarks threads like a webpage. Try that also.

Most discussion board apps use search term indexing to speed searches and improve performance. There are many techniques for optimizing searches and this site, though heavily trafficked, could use a balanced solution.

Also, without the search, the same things get posted and reposted and the same threads get repeated over and over in cycles. A good search feature would reduce the total amount of threads & posts, IMO.

Hey! Didn't know that was there...very cool. Should have known better since 'My Home' and 'Challenges' takes you to another page.

...venturing off to click on more potential gems...

Not by a lot, I bet. We had search functionality, and we still got a lot of reposts. :-)
