My friend had me take some informal pictures for him (possible senior pics if he likes them). After I convert them from RAW and edit them in PS, how should I save them? I am planning on just putting everything on CD so he can pick and choose what he wants at Proex or something. For printing I know it should at least be 300 DPI, but as far as size goes how do I make it so the file isn't like 1gb in size like I have been getting?
Thanks |

it really depends on how big you want your print. most people will tell you to save to TIFF after editing RAW, but for something like a 4x6, or even an 8x10 it really doesnt matter wheather TIFF or a high quality JPEG.
Also, if your just giving it to him to look at, keep the RAW files at home, and just burn him a disk of JPEGs

Cool, thanks for the info. I was planning on burning the JPEGs for him. At 36mb a piece though I will only be able to fit like 19 on a CD... |
