Hi guys,
This is my texture´s DQ. It was in a 6,10 when it was DQ. At the beginning of the vote deadline I was dreaming on with a ribbon, cause it was in a 6,72, but honestly I´d prefer it was down. It´s better to be DQ with a normal score than with a potencially ribbon score.
I appreciate all your comments.

why would you re-enter the same image on another challenge anyway? |

Sure is a great textures image. Was this an old picture that you re-used?? Or were the challenges back-to-back and you used them in both challenges?
What a shame. It's really good for textures.

The same picture was used for both textures and at the zoo - Just cropped differently. |

Curious about this, I usually snapped 3 or 4 of the same picture, Usually I bracket.. If the picture number is different does this make the shot legal?

See I think this is where showing the DQ̢۪ed pictures at the end of the challenge results is great thing. I know this was brought out in a thread but I was able to go and see why it was DQ̢۪ed.
What did that little bit of information that is so valuable tell me? Look at the user that got DQ̢۪ed, he has been a member of DPC since 2003. I truly believe he was NOT trying to do anything wrong willingly or knowingly. It tells me that everyone should go back an re-read the rules ever so often to refresh there memory and hopefully keep the same thing from happening to us.

What's the definition of "braket", I've heard it used several times, but I'm not sure what it means?

I'm thinking he's talking about exposure bracketing. Where your camera automatically takes 3 photos instead of one - 1 underexposed, 1 normal, 1 overexposed, by whatever "bracket" (plus or minus number) you happen to set. My camera will do +-2 in increments of 1/4.

Yes, that is what bracketing does. A very handy little tool.

Bracketing can be used for different things. Exposure is just one. On my G3 I have focus bracketing when using manual focus. On other cameras there is WB bracketing.

Focus bracketing? That's damn cool! Is it for AF only? Or will it work in manual, too?

Only in manual focus.

Besides bracketing--a series of exposures with modified settings--many cameras also have a "burst mode," where the camera takes a rapid sequence of frames with a single actuation of the shutter--usually 3-8 frames over the span of 1-2 seconds.
This could allow you to have two nearly identical captures which you could legally use for concurrent challenges, but you'd have to be very careful to not mix up the originals when sending them in for verification! |

Well, with a 10,000 camera it is a + bracket, with a 200 dollar one it is a minus bracket. With a middle of the rode camera..... It is a tax bracket if you can convince the IRS you made money, but as much as you spent. |

Sorry for my delayed answer (I´m out enjoying my vacations!!!). I didn´t wanted to do something illegal. I decided to submit this pic, cause I thought it would be legal if you send a different framed pic. In fact, I asked to ursula and scalvert, but we have a little problem with the language (well, the problem was mine) and I made a bad interpretation of their answer. |
