Wonderful pictures everyone! Thanks for posting them. I have been waiting since last November for this eclipse. I was so upset we had cloud coverage all night. Thanks again for posting them :) |

Jacko, I want to see your shots, with that fancy new setup you have. Hope you managed to stay awake.

Sonifo, you must be a northern WY girl to have clear skies. Here in Northern CO, still overcast...get to see the moon occassinaly through clouds, but TOO LATE! (C:

I went outside to see if I could see the eclipse. (I am working night shift this week) I even had my camera, which I try to take everywere with me. But it was cloudy and I couldn't even see a single star. I would have known that if there were some windows in this place.

We had a little eclipse party out my way. We had a smaller refractor on the deck mounted to a tripod with a manual guider and a pretty decent sized reflective telescope with fully free motion (breathe wrong and the thing shifts... frustraTING). I have never shot through a telescope before, and didn't even think about it until the full phase had already begun. The combination of handholding to the eyepeice on a wooden deck with 5-10 people milling about made for some really challenging shots.
