Does anyone own the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 EX HSM. I have read good things about it but was wondering if anybody had some first hand experience with it.

there are two versions of this lens now... and they differ by quite a chunck of change. You might want to specify which you are refering to.

I went to the Sigma web site and I have only seen one version. Can you send me a lick that will show both?

I'm looking at this lens also. It's a big difference between it and Nikon version. I recentrly bought the Sima 105mm f2.8 DG EX. I'm happy but the focus isn't has fast has I imagined it would be. But I've never used a macro lens before, so I wouldn't have a copare model, but even for portraits is a bit slow and it hunts in low light.Hope to hear some feedback on the 70-200 about it.

lens 1

difference is only in the coating on the elements. the DG is supposedly for Digital, but I suspect the original would be just as good in almost every situation.

I think that the 70-200mm sigma is a great deal for its cost! I used mine for about a year before upgrading to the Nikon VR lens. I mainly used the sigma at sporting events and was happy with it. The AF is much faster than the 105mm Sigma Macro lens. |
