If she does want to do nude or partial nude, make sure she doesn't wear anything tight or with elastic in it the day of the shoot.
Otherwise, just try to keep it fun and relaxed.

I would recommend picking up a book on posing or grabbing some magazines and tearing out some poses that you want to try. It will make the whole process go smoother if you know what you want to do upfront.

Well hell, I'm out of ideas now!! hehehe.....but seriously, maybe look through a lot of magazines to get some ideas! See what she is comfortable with and work from there!

maybe some links/references to some common (must have) poses will be nice.
For a 1st shoot i am not looking to do anything out of the norm. Maybe after a few seesions later?

Here are two portrait photographers I know from another site. Julia Gerace and Barbie Schwartz. Both are very good. For more ideas look around the most popular at Muse Cube. Good luck!

I did something similar recently, though she got sick and didn't come to the shoot, my research is just waiting for her to fit time into her schedule. Modeling isn't a high priority for her, but she's toying around with the idea. I digress...
What I did was dig through some people that I really liked their stuff in here, notably, Kevin Riggs, and a few others which I don't have handy on this machine. I also got lucky, and my model and I chat alot online, so when she was bored one night, we went through OneModelPlace.com and she pointed out alot of things she'd like in her portfolio.
I looked through books, but whenever I had the cash to buy them, I couldn't find the ones I wanted, so I made my own. It's now sitting in my camera bag waiting for her, or another model session. |
