Photoshop 7

Got some actions from a web site Joey linked to a while back. How do I get them into Photoshop & make them work?

Sorry, I'm a little.... special.

Put them in your Photoshop/Presets/Photoshop Actions folder

And then load them by clicking on the little arrow at the top of the menu and choosing "load action."

You crack me up. If they are zipped, then you will have to unzip them. Put them in the same folder that mavrik mentioned after you unzip them. Then open PS, go to your "Actions" pallette, then click "load" and go back to that same folder and click on each one to load it. You should then be able to use them.

I'm not sure about elements but in CS, if you don't see the actions palette, you can click on Window > Actions. It looks like this:

Then you click on that arrow to open up the menu and load the actions.

Good timing... I had an action and could not remember how to load it.

As always, DPCer advice is impecable. Saved me from rediscovering. :)

I think the issue with PS is that it will let you load an action from any old place on your hard disk but you really want to place them in the correct PS folder first.

Thanks

LOL, I've been trying some of these actions and have to laugh at myself when it stops and tells me to do something with such and such brush on such and such layer and I just sit with no idea what it means. I guess I've got some more learnin' to do.

thanks for the help!

Now, can someone come over to my house and teach me photoshop? ;-)

I don't think elements has actions but I could be wrong. Check the help to see if there's any info there.

I did a quick Google search and it looks like maybe Elements can play actions but not create or edit them. And it apparently does not have the actions palette so I'm not quite sure how they work.

I found this for running actions in Elements 1, 2 and 3.

It may be of some help.

Just a bump in case the interested parties haven't seen it yet.

Just another note for PSE users....if you buy the book shown on this website it has a CD in the back that lets you load the 'hidden elements' toolbar, which has curves! I picked up the book on amazon for like $4.99 and the book is good too :)
