The Lady Washington stopped by today on a tour around the NW. I was able to get onboard and take a few shots. I liked this one. What do you think?

You live around Puget Sound, huh? Lucky you! I've cruised the San Juans several times on a bareboat charter out of Anacortes. One of my favorite places.
Which line would that be anyway? I'm responsible for the mizzen topgallant.

Hell, I wouldn't know a mizzen topgallant from mooring line! I'm an old stinkpotter with little sailing experience. It was amazing how many lines were on that ship.
edit: if she is still there on Sunday I plan to go down with the 12-24 and see what I can get. Busy tommorrow. : (

She's a very cool ship. I saw her that year also. The Tall ships all stopped here in Anacortes that year. My wife was ble to get a few photos of them foing under the Deception Pass bridge. |

Unfortunately, when we went to see the ship, it was before I was into photography, so we have no pics of it... :(
And she was in the Pirates of the Caribbean too, so now she's doubly cool and I wish (double as much!) that I'd gotten pics! lol :)

We're off to Newcastle on Thursday to see theTall Ships Race set off! There should be lots of opportunities for pics hopefully so if we get any good ones will post them. There are about 100 of them. Don't know how to link to web site but if you put in "tall ships race, Newcastle" into google you should be able to get the BBC news site about the race.
:)
