So, i am going to do some stuff on lighting with the Digital Development kids for our last week (tomorrow - i'm so lazy!).
Anywho, anyone want to define (or link to) a kid friendly version of the whole photo means light in greek thing. Because my brain is mushy ;) |

No. graphos is writing: the following all relate to drawing — aposyro, ekdido, trabo, schediazo...

I think it refers to the inscribing of a permanent mark on a surface, and thus found its way into terms relating to both drawing and writing, expecially since in pre-Greek times they were largely the same thing.
How about "pictograph" -- I think that would be "picture-writing" |
