Please could you guys give me some advice on a tele conversion lens for my Sony-F717. I am obviously doing something wrong, because I can't find any decent info on what to buy and where to buy it. Not even the manufacturer was very helpfull. Tragic.

So please, if there is anyone out there that knows, please help...
PS: Yes... I am a newbie :))

To me it all depends on what type of work are you looking for.
If you (are/will be) a professional then go with the VCL-HGD1758.
If you just need to zoom with no real detail factor then you can go with an off brand. I bought a PRO hi-definition 2.0x lens on ebay.
It zooms in more but the clarity is not quite as good as the sony (my other lens).
Another consideration if you decide to go with the sony, it weights 20oz and is 2 7/8 long. spec below.

My other weights about 5oz. and is about 1in long.
