Have anyone cheked this out about licences and copyright?

Creative Commons

I'm always in doubt about copyright and if I should get signed permission when having photos of persons.

What do you guys think and what do you do?

Can you be more specific colda? Do you define witch images are totally copyright protected and witch ones can be transmited and published withought beeing altered regarding that they refer the author? I'm a bit confused about the site intention.

I used to have a link to that on my plog, but took it down because I wasn't sure if "All Rights Reserved" and what they list are the same thing. They seem to claim that they offer an all rights reserved link and whatnot, but I haven't figured out the details.

I believe the site's intention is to just allow you to have a legal document that states what can and cannot be done with your works. Generally people will apply this copyright to all of their images.

I basically state it in my profile (and will on my website after the upcoming redesign), for it to apply to all my photography.

When you click the link it states clearly what a third party can and cannot do.

I've done a bit of open source programming in the past, the CC licence is very close to the GPL and LGPL schemes that I have favoured in the past.

The CC licence also states "Any of these conditions can be waived if you get permission from the copyright holder." so I can still sell work freely where required.
