Can we please the default for this made to 20 or better yet 30? For those of us that are active in the forums, 10 is not enough to track where you've posted to. Adding them to "Watches" is a partial workaround, but I just can't see what the harm would be, compared to the benefit, of adding 10 or 20 more lines of posts to this area of our profile. Or make it an option for us (though I think that's more programming work...easier to just change the default).
While I'm at it, it would be cool to have an option to put the forum posts on the top of DPC. After seeing the winners, I come to DPC most often to read the forums. But I always have to scroll down to see them--I'd like to configure my view so they are at the top!

You can change how many are displayed in your 'My Preferences' max is 30 IIRC.

I'd like to be able to set it to 100 or so myself...

Neil,
I agree that "lost posts" are a major irritant. I don't know what a good solution to this might be, but the most useful implementation that I've seen is the DPReview "My Threads" link. That would simply be a link on everyone's home page that when clicked would take them to a paged view of threads posted to. Would be a great way to be able to find old discussions.

I have to agree with you there needs to be more than 10 threads. I think 20 or 30 would be great. As it stands now a lot of post drop off the page before some gets home from work, out with the family, etc. before they get a chance to read it.
In my case when I post and watch in fall to the bottom quickly. Maybe it's not the amount of threads on the page, just me. :) Could I ask the admins could I change my user name to Threadkiller! |

I don't think that applies to the "Last 10 forum threads posted to..." on your profile page. |

I've wondered myself why it was limited to so small a number while other forum listing have more flexibility.
Actually what I would like is a 'My Forum Posts' section that lists all of them (like the Community page does for recent posts).
In the meantime, using this link takes me to the community page directly without having to scroll the home page //www.dpchallenge.com/community_index.php

I'm not against this at all, but isn't prominent public display for a week one of the prizes for 'winning' a challenge.

/edit: either I type really slow, or this is a topic near to the hearts of many -- there were no replies when I started typing.

That's a great link to use to address my "second" issue/suggestion. Gives me forum threads with no pictures at all!
Thanks! |
