Here is a single image of the moon I did tonight to test out the Canon D60 with my new Celestron 80mm Spotter scope( equivalent to 400mm ).

I just cropped it and did a little sharpening, no other processing

The little scope i got was cheaper than the Sony Telephoto lense for my 707... it didnt take long to save my pocket change for this, plus selling a few things on ebay helped

$166 delivered to my door (scope was 149.95)

Celesteon 80 mm Wide scope

Where I bought it

its a pretty cool little scope. But I will probablly hook the 707 to it for the eclipse.

That's the sort of shot I want to take! I'm thinking seriously about a spotting scope - I think I'd use it more than an astronomical scope as I could use it for bird/wildlife shots too.

Here's another very nice moon shot. (This is on photoSIG - you might need a login to view it. If so and you haven't got one, just take a look at the photoSIG main page - it's on there.) Not mine, I wish it was.

BTW, your shot is very nice, but looks perhaps a little bright to me - perhaps raise the shutter speed a bit?

How did you hook your D60 up to the 'scope?

Cheers

I am also very curious about how you hooked the scope to the camera. Can you show us a picture of your setup?

Thanks,

Greg
