Because of the weight which is not much but with my nerve damage in my neck, shoulders, and arms I am unable to steady it enough for great photoâs on the telephoto end (200mm). I think for now a better solution would be the Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Image Stabilizer USM Autofocus Lens. I will be selling my kit lens with warranty as well.
Both lens are only 3 months old and in excellent condition. With the Canon 70- 200mm f/4.0 âLâ lens I will be including a UV filter. The "L" lens has a 1 year warranty with B&H and the kit lens has a 1 year no limitations (covered even if you break it) warranty from wolfcamera.
Any Suggestions on other lens in this range that may be better keeping the cost lower than I will get when I sell my Canon 70-200mm f/4.0 âLâ lens and kit lens.
It does not have to be a Canon lens.

Scott, you might look at the 70-300 IS DO USM. I love mine. Much more useful than the 70-200. The only downside is tendency to flare, but comes with a lens hood. It's really portable and comfortable on the Rebel XT, if you can afford it. I got mine for about $1100. |

Mine's on backorder, should clear in a day or two. I can cancel the backorder if this one's a deal.

With my nerve damage having to hold the lens with my arm extended is when I start to shake. With smaller lens in length I don't shake that bad. It's the way I have to position my arm (lens weight greater than camera weight). To give you an example with this lens I even get camera shake at 1/250th and sometimes higher.
I don't know if going with a lighter and smaller lens will solve the problem totally but I know it will help if the the smaller lens has IS. |
