I originally uploaded this shot, but later traded it out because I was worried I'd get slapped around for the overexposed rock in the lower right. I still like the shot, but would love a 2nd chance to retake it.

I had alot of zoo outtakes... I really wanted to enter one of my niece or my son petting the giraffe, but the exposures did not seem right...
I welcome any comments...

I posted my outtakes at this gallery so that the family that fed their daughter to the giraffe could see them. (Some photos may be upsetting for viewers, other photos may delight.)

#6 and #16 would have received high scores IMO. |

17 is really strong. if that's an outtake, wonder what your entry actually is!! |

This was a dead stuffed bird. :)
Didn't make it to the zoo, so didn't enter this challenge. But I thought this photo was kinda cool anyway. :)

Here's a shot that I took for the At the Zoo challenge. I didn't have time to get it processed before the deadline crept up on me so I didn't submit it. If I had time I would have cloned out some of the grass around his mouth, and maybe added a border. How do you think it would have scored?

Thanks, but I thought it was too sad to have as an entry and then possibly have it forever on my profile page ;-) The poor creature was born in Ueno Zoo in 1988 and had been in Utsunomiya Zoo for 12 years, presumably in the same cage that gets little sunlight. When he stands up, you can see that his feet are deformed from being on the concrete. I just wonder if he's ever been in a tree. |

Powerful shots there Pug...... I concur about the sad situation of these caged animals. My heart broke at some of the things I saw when I went looking for my photo.

Awesome shots, gibun!
I made it to the zoo, but not until yesterday, so no entries, but shot a LOT of pics. At one point I saw a maintenance crew working on a ladder up in the trees and being the opportunist that I am, I took this...
